Diploma in design, National College of Arts, Lahore, 1983; postgraduate diploma in art gallery & museum studies, University of Manchester, England 1988. Has undertaken curatorial work in Pakistan 1984-1987, 1992; Canada 1989-92; USA 1988; UK 1988.

Solo exhibitions and group shows at various venues in Canada 1989-94 and Pakistan 1987, 1989, 1992, 1993. Won several awards at home and abroad and grants from Ontario Arts Council 1991, USA 1988, and the British Council Fellowship, England 1987-88.

Another variation on the latticed balcony, this Mughal architectural ornament is closer to the oriel window. Fast disappearing from the houses and havelis of old Lahore, it has been accorded particular attention by artists.
