Hasan Shahnawaz Zaidi

(B. 24.05.1948)
 

Master in fine arts, University of the Punjab, 1968. Began as lecturer in 1969. Since 1984 Associate Professor and Chairman Department of Fine Arts, University of the Punjab, Lahore.

Taught at University of Nairobi, Kenya 1974-1982; art director to as advertising agency in Nairobi, 1983-1984; copywrite/creative director with an advertising firm Lahore, 1983-1984; advertising consultant and illustrator for several private sector organizations, freelance; illustrator for the last 27 years. Participated in thirty-five national and regional exhibtions in Pakistan, and abroad.

Lahore, the cultural and intellectual centre of Pakistan, was one of the great cities of the Ghaznavid and Mughal empires. Its magnificent architecture of the Muslim eras, the Sikh period and the British Raj give it a distinctly cosmopolitan air.
